THE QUEEN’S DIAMOND JUBILEE BANK HOLIDAYS June 2012
As you may know, the Government has announced that there will be an additional bank holiday to celebrate Her Majesty The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.
The 2012 late May bank holiday will be moved to Monday June 4th 2012 and there will be an additional Jubilee bank holiday on Tuesday June 5th 2012.
As this ‘additional holiday’ falls in the school’s June half term I have been informed by the city council that we have to arrange for an additional day’s closure.
To accommodate the city council’s instructions and to provide you with as much time as possible to arrange child care etc., the school will close on Tuesday July 17th at the usual time and not Wednesday 18th July. July 18th will be the Jubilee day and Thursday 19th will be a staff in service day.
I apologise if the change of date causes you any inconvenience but hopefully giving you plenty of warning will alleviate any problems that may occur.
May I take this opportunity to remind you that the school closes this Friday, February 10th and re-opens on Tuesday February 21st.

Parents/Guardians
Please ensure we receive your final payments for the Boreatton Park Trip no later than Tuesday 31st January.
If your child no longer requires his/her place please do let the school office know urgently as we currently have children wanting a place on our reserve list.

Term and Holiday Dates
SPRING TERM 2012
Tuesday, 3rd January – Friday, 30th March 59 Days
Half Term Monday, 13th February – Friday, 17th February
[N.B. The school will be closed for a training day Monday February 20th and will reopen on Tuesday February 21st.]
SUMMER TERM 2012
Monday, 16th April – Tuesday, 17th July 63 Days
May Day (Bank holiday) Monday, 7th May
Half Term Monday, 4th June – Friday, 8th June
[N.B. The school will be closed for a training day Monday 11th June and will reopen on Tuesday 12th June.]
Reception and Nursery will be closed on May 3rd for use during local elections. The rest of the school will not be affected.
Total school days 194 – 5 days will be allocated by each school within these dates for staff in-service training.
NB there are usually 195 days in an academic year, including in-service training days, but an aditional bank holiday has been agreed in the 2011/2012 year in celebration of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.
